Kyrgyz, Tajik specialists on capacity building of youth meet in Osh to exchange experience

Bishkek, Oct.14, 2019. /Kabar/. A meeting to exchange experience between specialists from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to enhance the capacity of young people and their role in addressing social problems took place in Osh on Oct. 8-11, the press service of the Youth of Osh Public Association reported.

At the meeting, experts from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Tajikistan shared their experience. They talked about what tools are effective in promoting the role of youth in society and how to identify and improve the skills of young people to develop innovative solutions.

Expert Faridun Zamonov said since 2017 60 social projects have been implemented in Tajikistan and 12 innovative laboratories have been opened, in which schoolchildren develop innovative plans to address various social problems, including migration and unemployment.

The training was attended by representatives of the Youth of Osh Public Association, the Institute for Development Policy, the Foundation for Tolerance International and the IDEA Central Asia Youth Organization.

The event was organized by the Youth of Osh Public Association within the framework of the “Cheksiz Dostuk (Endless Friendship) - Promoting Kyrgyzstan's Youth Cohesion and Interaction Towards Uzbekistan" project with technical support of UNICEF in Kyrgyzstan and funding of the UN Peacebuilding Fund.

This event was held to promote the Child Friendly Cities Initiative within the framework of the “Promoting Kyrgyzstan’s Youth Cohesion and Interaction Towards Uzbekistan” project with the technical support of UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA and funding from the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
