Russia isn’t against Armenia’s cooperation with the European Union. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov declared during a meeting with students of the Diplomatic School of Armenia at the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran) today.

“The Europeans have their doctrines in any region where they carry out their activities and overlook the norms, principles and everything else that existed before they arrived in the region. They’re doing this within the scope of the Arctic, Baltic and Black Sea Strategy and the Eastern Partnership, which Armenia is a part of,” he stated, adding that when Armenia was leading talks with the EU with respect to the Associated Agreement, the Europeans were trying to overlook all the commitments that Yerevan had assumed in its relations with other partners.
