Eastern CT State University to display fall art exhibit

Staff reports

The Art Gallery at Eastern Connecticut State University is kicking off its fall 2020 season with an exhibition showcasing the university's painting and drawing faculty with the opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Fine Arts Instructional Center, ECSU, 83 Windham St., Willimantic.

The exhibit is dedicated to the memory of Andy Jones, a longtime faculty member and professor of painting who died in January. Many of his early and late works will be shown in the exhibit. It will present various topics that represent the faculty's varied reflections of landscapes, multicultural experiences and representations of a "voracious consumer culture," according to Art Gallery Director Yulia Tikhonova.

The exhibition will be on display through Oct. 1.
