The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan issued an order on the civil-patriotic upbringing of children and youth in the context of post-crisis recovery.
According to the order, it is instructed to organize:
- In educational organizations — events in memory of servicemen and civilians who died in Batken;
- Essay contest «Kyrgyzstan begins with Batken», children’s drawing contest «Strength of the country is in the friendship of peoples», online flash mob «Rhythms of Friendship», web poster contest «Peace to every home»;
- Additional classes with children of preschool and school age in places of their temporary accommodation;
- Work of psychologists from among teachers of educational organizations of secondary vocational education and higher education organizations to help victims in Batken region.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 198 victims, 59 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
