Kyrgyzstan proposes simplified procedure for registration of CIS citizens

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, as part of a working trip to Moscow (Russia), took part in the 95th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Press service of the Cabinet reported.

The participants exchanged views on topical issues of economic cooperation in the CIS format, including the results of the work carried out to implement the list of joint response measures to emerging problems.

Adylbek Kasymaliev stressed that the agenda includes a number of important issues that will subsequently be submitted for consideration by the Council of CIS Heads of Government.

He paid special attention to the issue of the need to create favorable conditions for the stay of citizens, including a simplified registration procedure.

«In this context, the integration of migrants into society and the formation of a tolerant attitude towards them, counteracting illegal migration and the formation among citizens of the CIS countries of respect for the legislation, language and culture of the host country are important,» the official said.

He told the meeting participants about the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. He recalled that the Alma-Ata Declaration on the establishment of the CIS was adopted in December 1991.

«It states that independent states recognize and respect each other’s territorial integrity and the inviolability of existing borders. Unfortunately, the Tajik side, violating all the previously reached agreements for the second time, attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. As a result of these events, 36 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were killed last year, and 59 this year. More than 140,000 civilians were evacuated, including women, children and the elderly. Houses, administrative buildings, schools, frontier posts, which were restored last year, were repeatedly destroyed,» Adylbek Kasymaliev said.

He also stressed that in the six months of 2022, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover with the CIS member countries amounted to $1.7 billion. Compared to last year, it increased by 18.4 percent.

«The republic is faced with the task of implementation of such strategic projects as the construction of the Kambarata hydropower station-1 and China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. Much attention is paid to the development of digitalization of public services and the economy as a whole, the optimization of production processes and the development of 5G technology throughout the country. Work is underway to launch gold and digital som from January 1, 2023. It is planned to open a university of IT technologies and create an IT campus,» the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet concluded.
