Uppsala Security, a provider of security tools and services for Crypto AML/CTF, Transaction Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Transaction Tracking, and Cyber Security announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused “on the cooperation with the AI Education Institute of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.”
The cooperation started “with the invitation of 30 students from the Department of Computer and Electronic System Engineering to Uppsala Security’s Singapore office for field trips.”
The purpose of the visit to Singapore was “part of an academic industry agreement signed with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.” The main contents of the agreement “include overseas internship (field learning) opportunities, industry joint research and technology development, industry and human resources training and software-centered university projects.”
Jack Chong, Uppsala Security Researcher, “introduced the company’s mission & identity to the students and members of the Department of AI Funding at Hankuk University while focusing on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) based virtual asset tracking and analysis solutions as well as its virtual asset Anti-Money Laundering services.”
A representative at Uppsala Security said:
“CARA (Crypto Analysis Risk Assessment) is an AI-based solution specialized in virtual assets FDS (Fraud Detection System), evaluating the risk of a specific wallet by following ML transaction patterns detected on various other wallets. Based on this technology, we developed the Crypto Threat Detection System (CTDS) that handles Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) and Counterfeit Currency Reporting (CTR) for millions of additional virtual asset wallets with just one click by reducing the processing time for wallet addresses in an innovative manner“.
Professor Doo Il-chul of the AI Education Center of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies remarked:
“In line with the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, we signed an academic industry focused cooperation agreement with the goal of fostering the convergence of global software and artificial intelligence experts with humanities-based thinking, communication skills and creativity.”

“It was really meaningful to provide undergraduate students with field experience through the academic industry cooperation with the AI Education Institute of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. These students are our future industry experts and as a Founder it makes me extremely grateful that our project can provide such a platform for curious and proactive minds.”
Meanwhile, Uppsala Security was “selected as a demand company for the ‘AI Data Processing Voucher Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in September 2020, and completed the advancement of the AI service of CARA (Crypto Analysis Risk Assessment).”
