NBSE to hold interactions on Science education

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has decided to hold interactions on Science education with the higher secondary students, Science teachers (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) and principals of Science stream in Kohima, Dimapur and Chümoukedima.

The interaction programme has been organised in commemoration of NBSE golden jubilee year. The purpose of the event was to encourage and promote the study of Science at higher education, stated a DIPR report.

It informed that Professor Shalabh, department of Statistics and Dean of Academic Affairs, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, would be the resource person.

It informed that interaction with the students in the morning session on April 29 would be held at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, followed with afternoon session at 2 pm at Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.

The interaction on April 30 with students in the morning at 10 am and with the principals and Science teachers of Mon, Peren, Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts in the afternoon at 2 pm would be held at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.

The interaction on May 1 with students in the morning at 10 and at 2 pm would be held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima.

The interaction on May 2 with the principals and Science teachers of Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire and Longleng districts would be held at NBSE conference hall, Block I, at 10 am.

All stakeholders are encouraged to promote the study of Science as it is crucial for fostering innovation, critical thinking, and sustainable progress. It stated that a scientifically literate society is vital to the future of the society, which would enable to make informed decisions about the collective challenges they face.

All the head of higher secondary institutions having Science stream are requested to disseminate the information to the students, teachers and participate in the interaction programmes.
