Reynolds — (WLOS) Normally a herd of students wandering the halls during a class period would draw admonishment from teachers and faculty; Tuesday was an exception at A.C. Reynolds, though. Early in the afternoon the seniors on the Rockets baseball team surprised various teachers with t-shirts thanking them for having a special role in their lives.
The shirts read, "I Made an Impact" and each player was given two to gift to teachers ranging from middle school to senior classes.
"It means the world because you have an hour and a half with a student five days a week, and you have them one semester," said head coach Michael Staicar, who traveled with the players to the different classrooms. "So to be able to make a huge impact on their lives that's lasting is just - words can't describe it. It's a phenomenal feeling."
The players and the teachers they chose include:
Preston Hefner - Science Teacher Angela Mace & Middle Grades Math Teacher Karen Gailey
Hayden Craig - Science Teacher Angela Mace
Cade Gardner - English Teacher Jason Rhodes & Business/Marketing Teacher Kenneth Ulmer
Jackson Ray - Business/Marketing Teacher Kenneth Ulmer
Bryson Moseman - CTE-Agriculture Teacher Elijah Frisby & 8th Grade Social Studies Robert Gouge
Mekhi Gibson - Business/Marketing Teacher Kenneth Ulmer
Ayden Hines- Principal Ben Alexander & Assistant Principal Kasey King
