M&T Bank awards 12 local organizations with $46K to combat food insecurity in the Southern Tier

(WBNG) -- M&T Bank announced they’re providing 12 local organizations with $46,500 in grant funding.

M&T Bank said the grant funding addresses food insecurity across the Southern Tier. In late 2024, M&T continued its commitment to fighting hunger and supporting local communities by directing charitable investments to food pantries and food-access programs in Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Tioga and Tompkins counties.

The organizations that received grant funding to support hunger relief efforts include:

  • Binghamton University Food Pantry
  • Broome County Council of Churches
  • Cortland County Agency on Aging 
  • Catholic Charities of Broome County
  • Cortland County Agency on Aging
  • Chenango County Catholic Charities
  • Food Bank of the Southern Tier
  • Loaves & Fishes
  • Meals on Wheels – Chemung
  • Meals on Wheels – Western Broome
  • Nutrition or the Elderly – Tompkins County
  • TACO Food Pantry
  • Tioga County Rural Ministry

M&T Bank awards more than $500,000 in grant funding to dozens of nonprofit organizations in the Southern Tier every year.
