Damage in Butler County

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- The American Red Cross has dozens of scheduled times when people can come out and give blood. This coming after strong storms and tornadoes caused destruction in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.

The Red Cross is calling on the people to help give blood and financial donations after storms caused damaged in Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois.

“This year’s disasters have set a whirlwind pace, displacing thousands of people from their homes across the country and disrupting the nation’s blood supply for patients,” said Micheal Sullivan, Executive Director, Red Cross of Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas. “As we enter spring disaster season, families are relying on us to come together as a community and support them when help can’t wait during future crises. Join us today by making a financial donation or giving blood or platelets.”

To make a financial donation, you may visit the Red Cross website. You may also schedule an appointment to give blood or platelets.

The American Red Cross is rallying 30,000 supporters to help deliver aid as well. The Red Cross Giving Day is on March 26 as well.
