Members of the Presentation Secondary School community in Clonmel gathered recently at Hotel Minella to honour the retirement of Michael O’ Loughlin, a much respected and admired principal.
Throughout his career at Presentation Secondary School Clonmel, Michael held various roles, from teacher to Deputy Principal, and later Principal.
His dedication to education and commitment to excellence were evident in every position he held.
Michael’s efforts to create a caring educational environment, where learning and personal development could flourish, have left a lasting impact on the school community.

Students, past and present, fondly remember Mr O’ Loughlin as a principal who always made time for them, welcoming them into the office with a Freddo bar and an empathetic ear.
Michael’s passion for developing school facilities and promoting women in sport enriched the school culture. His efforts culminated in a state of the art all-weather pitch sports facility that will benefit the community for years to come.
Known for his good humour, understanding and empathetic ear, Michael led the school through challenging times with composure and resilience.
