EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) - The Effingham County Chamber is hosting an exclusive Lunch & Learn featuring Nathan Jones, a NASA Crew Medical Officer, next month. 

The event will be on Tuesday, April 8, at the Effingham Event Center. 

It is sponsored by Drs. Sehy & Jones. 

Nathan Jones is a Springfield native. Jones has served as the medical officer and crewmate on NASA Johnson Space Center’s first long duration analog mission called CHAPEA 1.

As a board-certified emergency medicine physician, Jones specializes in prehospital and austere medicine. He currently serves as an emergency medicine physician, emergency medical director, and tactical medical physician at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He is also an associate professor of emergency medicine at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Effingham Event Center.

The cost to attend is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members, including lunch and beverages provided by Country Rhodes Catering.
