CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Multiple students were awarded scholarships to John A. Logan, equaling free tuition for them for two years there.

This is part of the John A. Logan Student Ambassador Scholarship which is a leadership program where students help with supporting college services while in school.

This includes assisting in programs, including giving campus tours and enhancing incoming and interested students with knowledge about the services and programs JALC offers.

Recent recipients from southern Illinois were awarded $9,280 which equals the amount for tuition for the two years while the students represent JALC as a Student Ambassador.

Those awarded were Brenna Rathert from Murphysboro High School, Emma Holland from Johnston City High School, Adrian Maynor from Project Echo Alternative School and Drake Prepejchal from Carbondale Community High School.

There are also a couple more students from local schools scheduled to receive scholarships as well next week.
