Illinois State to play for CBI championship

DAYTONA BEACH (25News Now) - Illinois State University’s men’s basketball team has advanced to the championship game of the College Basketball Invitational in Daytona, Beach Florida.
The Redbirds defeated the University of Incarnate Word (UIW) 78-73 on Tuesday night. ISU will play the Cleveland State Vikings, who beat Florida Gulf Coast University 72-65 in the other semifinal.
Chase Walker led the Redbirds in scoring with 27 points. He also had nine rebounds. Ty Pence had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Johnny Kinziger scored 13 points for Illinois State, which improves to 21-14 on the season.
UIW, from San Antonio, Texas and the Southland Conference, ends its season with a 19-17 record. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Dylan Hayman, who had 24 points.
The CBI title game is Wednesday, March 26 at 4 p.m. CT.
