LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A bill to regulate THC drinks in Kentucky has been signed into law.
The new law will be regulated by the state's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will clarify product labels, define agency oversight responsibilities and set limits on intoxicating ingredients in THC drinks.
The law also calls for continuing studies on the impact of THC drinks on public health in the state.
To support policymaking, the University of Kentucky Cannabis Center will conduct a study on THC drinks.
Those findings are expected to come out in 2026.
THC-infused beverages are already available in Louisville from a company formed in 2019 called Hectare's, which will be selling three flavors of the beverage: stone fruit, dragon fruit and watermelon cucumber mint.
You must be 21 or older to purchase the beverages.
