Driving Dreams: BISS Opens Golf Training Centre

The British International School Shanghai, Puxi, has opened a brand new Golf Training Centre: a state-of-the-art facility featuring two hitting bays installed with the latest Garmin R50 simulators, plus a large putting green for children to practice.

School Principal, Andrew Lancaster, gave an opening speech, followed by a session with professional golfer, Jovick Lee (PGA Coach), who gave the children a lecture on using the cutting-edge equipment, sparking excitement among budding golfers.

The event also marked the official launch of the BISS Golf Team, led by captain Edison from Year 8. The team represented BISS at the FOBISIA Golf Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, which happened from March 8-12.


Concordia International Day

Traveling the world in just one day became a reality at Concordia International Day. Now in its 15th year, this beloved event, organized by dedicated PSO parents, provided immersive cultural experiences from 11 countries and regions.

From dynamic performances and diverse cuisines to interactive games and global adventures, the school community came together to celebrate cultural diversity.

With the support of over 250 volunteers, including parents and alumni, the campus transformed into a vibrant cross-cultural carnival.

The ‘Where in the World?’ quiz engaged the entire community, sparking curiosity and encouraging participation in the celebration of cultures.

International Day highlighted the power of cultural exchange, reinforcing Concordia’s commitment to celebrating community and fostering global citizenship.


Wellington's Grand Edventure to New Zealand & Samoa

Wellington College International Shanghai pupils recently returned from a Grand Edventure in New Zealand and Samoa.

The excursion was an incredible opportunity for pupils to apply their classroom knowledge in the real world.

Exploring stunning natural wonders like Milford Sound and Wai-O-Tapu brought their Geography, ESS, and Economics studies to life, while hands-on activities like swimming with dolphins deepened their understanding of marine biology.

Beyond the educational focus, the trip was rich in cultural experiences. In New Zealand and Samoa, pupils engaged with indigenous Māori and Fa'a Samoa traditions, forging meaningful connections and cultivating respect for diverse cultures.

Wellington's commitment to service learning was evident too, as pupils participated in conservation projects, observing wildlife and supporting marine conservation efforts. These experiences reinforced lessons on sustainability and responsible travel.

Throughout the Grand Edventure, Wellingtonians embodied the College’s core values of kindness, courage, responsibility, respect and integrity.  


International Day at Shanghai French School:
A Celebration of Diversity and Community

This month, the Shanghai French School hosted the second edition of its International Day at its Qingpu campus, an event that turned out to be a great success.

Under clear skies and perfect weather, a large crowd gathered to celebrate cultural diversity through performances, sports, and cuisine.

The day featured vibrant student performances, including traditional dances, songs, and artistic showcases that highlighted the multicultural spirit of the school.

Meanwhile, the FD Academy Football Cup took place, keeping energy levels high with exciting matches running throughout the day and bringing together over 200 participants from international schools across Shanghai.

Food was another major highlight of the event, with a diverse selection of international cuisine available for attendees to enjoy. From pizza to Thai delicacies and Vietnamese specialties, the culinary offerings reflected the school's rich multicultural environment.

The success of the event was evident in the enthusiastic participation of students, families, and guests, who contributed to making the day an unforgettable celebration of global unity and community spirit.

With this edition being such a hit, excitement is already building for the upcoming cultural event on May 10 at their Yangpu campus, promising another day of international exchange and celebration.


Shanghai American School Claims Top 4 Spots in VEX Robotics China Nationals

Shanghai American School achieved outstanding success at the VEX Robotics National Championships in Guangzhou.

Impressively, SAS was represented by 10 teams—the largest delegation from any international school in China. And SAS teams remarkably swept the top four positions, marking a historic first for the school.

Notably, the team PXR0 not only earned second place but also secured both the Skills Champion and Excellence Awards—the event's highest honors—guaranteeing their entry to the VEX World Championship in Dallas.

SAS could not be prouder of their students' exceptional achievements and dedication, and are excited to see how they will represent SAS on the global stage in Texas!


YCIS Shanghai Embraces AI in Education

Earlier this month, the Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network (YCYW) hosted its annual Professional Development Days under the theme, Innovate, 'Educate, Empower: The AI Era of Learning.'

With over 70 workshops and presentations across YCYW campuses, educators explored practical strategies for integrating AI to enhance student learning, classroom engagement, and administrative efficiency. These sessions reflected their commitment to shaping the future of education through innovation.

As part of this network-wide initiative, YCIS Shanghai hosted a STEAM Expo, where teachers showcased AI tools used in and beyond the classroom, fostering collaboration and lifelong learning.

By leveraging AI-powered resources, they create personalized learning experiences that empower students to navigate the future with confidence.

As YCYW continues embracing technological advancements, events like these reaffirm a dedication to innovative, ethical education—equipping both educators and students with the tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.


SCIS Spring Carnival

In March, Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) hosted its Spring Carnival, bringing together families for a day of joy and connection.

The event featured an engaging Open House for prospective families, followed by children's activities, including the traditional egg hunt and creative workshops, while families enjoyed dynamic performances like Brazilian jiu-jitsu and magic shows.

Throughout the day, live music and shared meals at picnic areas strengthened bonds within the SCIS Community.

German School First-Class Advisory Service

To help students navigate the multitude of career and study options, the German School Shanghai (DSS) offers a first-class advisory service that supports them on their individual paths.

DSS promotes ongoing exchange with its alumni as well as with companies and institutions. Former graduates, executives, and representatives from firms and organizations are regularly invited to share their valuable insights into study and career opportunities with the students during events such as 'Lunch at the University' or the annual 'Career Day.'

This month, DSS hosted their Career Day 2025. Around 250 students from both campuses had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with more than 30 speakers from various sectors, such as marketing, journalism, aviation, hospitality, viticulture, diplomatic service, industry, logistics, international management, entrepreneurship and education. 


Dulwich Pudong China Schools Awards Winner

Dulwich Pudong’s innovative ‘Waste to Wonder’ project has been recognized in the Students for Sustainability category at the China Schools Awards 2025. ‘Waste to Wonder’ is a student-led sustainable social enterprise that:

  • Promotes environmental education by transforming an unused site into a sustainable garden

  • Champions responsible consumption by turning food waste into organic compost

  • Makes a real community impact through a socially responsible business based on these two elements

The China Schools Awards 2025 is organized by the British Chamber of Commerce in China. The ‘Waste to Wonder’ project is a perfect example of the College’s Service Learning program in action.

Britannica Celebrates Outstanding University Offers

Students at Britannica International School Shanghai have once again demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, securing a remarkable range of offers from world-leading universities across the UK, Canada, the US, and Singapore.

This year’s success highlights the school’s commitment to nurturing high-achieving scholars ready to excel at top global institutions.

Among the standout offers are admissions to QS World Top 100-ranked universities, including Imperial College London, University College London (UCL), King’s College London, the University of Manchester, the University of Bristol, and the University of Southampton.

Dulwich Puxi Excel in Math Competitions

Academic rigor is at the core of a Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi education. Recently, their students participated in several international math competitions, and the results speak volumes.

In the American Mathematics Competition, students achieved one perfect score (top 2% globally), four secured spots on the Honour Roll of Distinction (top 10%), and seven more reached the Global Achievement Roll.

Junior School students brought home two gold medals and one silver medal from the FOBISIA Primary Maths Competition in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Senior students excelled at the High School Team Maths Event in Suzhou, securing top placements.


Join the NAIS Spring Fair

The sun is finally out in the city, heralding the start of spring, and the NAIS Pudong annual Spring Fair will take place on Saturday, April 19 from 11am to 3pm. This year they will have an ‘Around the World’ theme, with lots of individual activities and events which celebrate that.

As always, the event will be completely free and open to the entire Shanghai community.  As you can see from the posters, they’ll have a fantastic range of activities taking place, including:

Two outdoor swimming pools for children (one for toddlers and one for older kids)

  • Bouncy castles

  • An Easter egg hunt around the school

  • A ‘Holi’ themed color battle (bring spare clothes which you don’t mind getting hit by the colored powder)

  • A large variety of stage performances, as well as music throughout the event

  • Lots of food & beverage and other shopping vendors

  • Arts & crafts activities, including t-shirt/fan/parasol painting, bracelet making, coloring, and more

  • Fun games around the school, including several which will raise money for a variety of charities

  • Face painting

Families are encouraged to come dressed in national outfits or in a color that’s on their national flag, or to bring activities and games from home.

There will be tents, picnic blankets, shaded areas, and a range of activities on the natural grass pitches to help everyone stay cool if the weather is very warm on the day.  Families are also welcome to bring their own blankets and even tents.
