Former UK Women’s Basketball head coach returning to coaching

HOUSTON, Tx. (WKYT) - Former University of Kentucky Women’s Basketball Head Coach Matthew Mitchell is returning to coaching.
The University of Houston announced on Thursday that Mitchell has been named the next head coach of the Cougars women’s Basketball team.
Mitchell retired as Kentucky’s head coach in 2021 after 13 seasons with the Wildcats.
Mitchell, the winningest head coach in Kentucky women’s basketball history with over 300 wins, retired with a career record of 333-162, including a 303-133 mark at Kentucky.
