Christina ‘Tina’ Renee Copeland

Christina “Tina” Renee Copeland, 46, of Murray, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

She was born Jan. 26, 1979, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to Edvern Thomas Copeland and Judith Jean (Knight) Copeland.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University, worked in the food and beverage industry for many years, and was of Christian faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tom and Mildred Copeland.

Ms. Copeland is survived by one son, Thomas Wade Rayburn of Murray, who was truly her world; fiancé, Zackary Allen Rayburn of Murray; one sister, Carla Rae Polk and husband Jeffery of Boonville, Indiana; one niece, Emma Jordyn Nelson of Evansville, Indiana; special friends, Larry Roberson, Bob Norsworthy, Arlo Reck and Missy Raines; and a host of other special friends and family. 

A private family graveside service will be held.

Linda Kay Erwin Workman

Linda Kay Erwin Workman, 79, of Murray, Kentucky, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

She was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to James Euel Erwin and Brenda Brandon Erwin.

She was co-owner of Southwest Farms, to which she dedicated her life. She was a hard worker, always willing to get her hands dirty in the fields alongside the men. She worked in tobacco and tended to the farm, family, and home with dedication and care. In her early years, she worked in the Calloway County School System. She was a devoted mother, wife, “Nana,” and a cherished friend to all. Her smile could brighten any room, and her laughter was truly infectious. A talented cook, she lovingly prepared meals for her family and farmhands throughout the seasons. She was an active member of Antioch Church of Christ. As a child, she was a member of South Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and a proud member of the South Pleasant Grove Homemakers Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tammy Kay Workman, and one brother, James Dale Erwin. 

Linda is survived by her husband, Eddie Workman of Murray, whom she married July 20, 1963, in Paris, Tennessee; a daughter, Lisa McDougal and husband Terry of Murray; a son, Greg Workman and wife Shaun of Murray; three sisters, Carolyn Parks of Murray, Sheila James and husband George of Hazel, and Joanne Mahan of Hazel; four grandchildren, Gage Workman, Lindsey Scott and husband Bryan, Amy Dale and husband Leighton and Whitney Bridges and husband Brandon; and four great-grandchildren, Branley Scott, Libby Dale, Remington Bridges and Edie Dale, all of Murray.  

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Al “Butch” Colley and John Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the funeral home.

Anna Faye Miller Taylor

Anna Faye Miller Taylor of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House with her daughter by her side.

She was born April 3, 1929, at home in Pontiac, Michigan, to Carmon Lamott Miller and Lyda Mae (Butterworth) Miller. 

She graduated high school in Lynn Grove where she acted in several plays. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was known for her hospitality, enjoyed traveling, gardening, and playing bridge. Her keen eye for fashion and warm personality made her a trusted advisor to generations of shoppers at The Place. She was a member of University Church of Christ and attended Williams Chapel Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy D Taylor, whom she married Feb. 14, 1948; one son, Gary Taylor; two brothers and their wives, Gene (Pat) Miller and Jerry (Becky) Miller; and two sisters, Jeannette (Will Ed) Rogers and Sandra Rogers.

Anna Faye is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Taylor; a son, David (Jennifer Bell) Taylor; daughter-in-law, Peggy Taylor; and 13 grandchildren, Serenity (Joe) Carr and Maya (Carlton) Pote, both of Austin, Texas, Alyssa (Stephen) Brown of Asheville, North Carolina, John (Christine) Taylor of Highland, Illinois, Greg (Kristin) Taylor, Charles (Angela) Taylor, Zak (Alysha) Taylor, Camee (Grant) Rudolph, Zori (Jeremy) Curd, Quinnen and Izaiah Taylor, all of Murray, and Quavie Taylor and Malik Taylor, both of Louisville. Also surviving are 26 great-grandchildren, Della Carr and Daisy Pote of Austin, Emaline and Hannah Brown of Asheville, Mae Rose and William Taylor of Highland, Cate, Ben, Rachel, Elijah, Ethne, Evelyn, Kieran, Charlie, Olivia, Gwen, Rowan, Leo, and Alex Taylor, Annalee, Wyatt and Reese Rudolph, Mila, James, Jase, and Sosie Curd of Murray; brothers-in-law Glenn Rogers and Dwain (Mary) Taylor, all of Murray; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with her grandson, Charles Taylor, officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the funeral home.

Dr. Harry Lee Conley Jr.

Dr. Harry Lee Conley Jr., 89, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at The Pinnacle of Louisville, Kentucky.

Born June 8, 1935, in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of Harry Lee Conley Sr. and Sara Clara (Benelli) Conley Jackson Billington. Harry graduated from Somerset High School in 1953 before pursuing higher education at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1957. He then continued his academic journey, obtaining a Master of Science in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.

Dr. Conley retired from Murray State University in 2001, where he was a chemistry professor for more than 30 years. His career began as a senior research chemist at Sprague Electric in North Adams, Massachusetts, and he also taught classes at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

A proud Eagle Scout and longtime member of the Boy Scouts of America, he carried that spirit of leadership and community throughout his life. In college, he became a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and many other college clubs and organizations. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murray since 1970, where he joyfully sang in the choir for many years. Throughout his life, he had many hobbies and interests including fishing, gardening, cooking, dancing, tinkering in the garage, and building model planes - a hobby he started at a young age. His children have many fond memories of family camping and boating trips on Kentucky Lake. Harry and Barbara enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, with Branson, Missouri, as one of their favorite destinations. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Clara, Jeannie, and Crista. 

Harry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Ann Conley of Murray; three daughters, Audrey Wilson (Monty) of Hazel, Brenda Stewart (Mark) Louisville and Caroline Baker (Seth) Oak Park, Illinois, shared with former wife Jacqueline Jordan; nine grandchildren, Shellie (Chad), Conley (Carder), Kendra, Keaton, Cayleigh, Mimi, Kassidy, Audrey, and Owen; four great-grandchildren, Ann, Vera, Lynn, and Charlie; Barbara’s children, Deborah Cosby, Bill Robasse and Shawn Robasse and their families; a brother-in-law, Kevin McClary; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service celebrating Harry’s life will be at 12 p.m. (noon) Saturday, March 29, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Murray with the Brittany Sutherland officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, at the church.
