Every kid should know how to ride a bike.

That’s the philosophy behind the effort that brought two dozen new bicycles to a Fontana school.

All Kids Bike, a national nonprofit group, delivered the bikes Thursday, March 27, to kindergartners at South Tamarind Elementary School to support the campus’ learn-to-ride program.

The group’s mission is to give children the chance to learn how to ride a bike in school, a news release states. The bicycles came courtesy of a grant from the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.

After an unveiling ceremony, kindergartners took a ride on the specialized bikes that make it easier for new riders.

Yamaha sponsors the school’s All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program, which includes teacher training , a curriculum, helmets and a fleet of bikes, the release states.

The giveaway also celebrated All Kids Bike’s seventh anniversary.
