Gophers’ Mesones Lands Top 15 Finish at Coach Mo Classic

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- University of Minnesota women's sophomore Mariana Mesones earned a top-15 finish Tuesday at the Coach Mo Classic. Mesones finished the tournament tied for 13th with a score of seven-over par (71-77-75). 

The Golden Gophers closed out the 54-hole event tied for seventh with a team score of 42-over par (302-305-299-906). 

No. 39 Purdue won the team competition with a score of 13-over par. The Boilermaker's own Natasha Kiel was crowned individual champion with a score of 3-under par. 

Notable: 
Mesones fired two birdies in her final 18 holes of competition. Her final round 75 placed her tied for 13th

Freshman Reese McCauley concluded the tournament in 22nd place with a score of 10-over par (74-77-75). 

Junior Madison Le finished with a score of 12-over par and tied for 30th (77-75-76), with fellow junior Ruby Chi finishing tied for 36th with a score of 13-over par (80-76-73). 

Competing as an individual, freshman Jordana Windhorst-Knudsen finished in 69th place (78-80-79). Sophomore Sara Tomaszewski tied for 72nd (80-79-79).
