An Oxford University educated former MP has been confirmed in the line-up for ITV's Celebrity Big Brother cast this year.

Ex-Tory MP Michael Fabricant, known for his big hair and controversial comments during his time in Parliament, will enter the Big Brother house next Monday, April 7.

According to a leaked report of the full line days ahead of the show starting, it has been claimed that Mr Fabricant will join Eastenders' Patsy Palmer, One and Only singer Chesney Hawkes and viral internet star Jojo Siwa.

Although he lost his seat for Lichfield in Staffordshire in last year's general election shakeup, which he had held since 1992, Mr Fabricant made a name for himself for controversial comments - something which viewers are hoping he'll bring to the house.

At the time, he tweeted "about time" regarding her stepping down.

The Brighton-born politician was educated at the University of Sussex before undertaking research at the University of Oxford in economics and econometrics.

The Sun, which broke the news of this year's line-up, described Mr Fabricant and his "golden oldies" peers set to feature on the show as "gloriously unwoke".

The rest of the cast includes Love Island star Chris Hughes, Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd and RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard as a late entry.

Reports also name TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise, actor Donna Preston, and presenter Angellica Bell in the line-up.
