Nebraska WR Gilmore IV dismissed from football program
LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule announced Saturday that sophomore wide receiver Hardley Gilmore IV has been dismissed from the roster.
“We dismissed Hardley Gilmore (IV) from the team, so we wish him the best as he moves forward,” Rhule said at a post-spring practice news conference.
Rhule did not give specifics into the Belle Glade, Florida, native’s dismissal, but confirmed it was an internal situation.
“Nothing outside the program,” Rhule said. “Nothing criminal or anything like that, just won’t be with us anymore.”
Gilmore IV transferred to Nebraska this offseason from Kentucky, where he had six catches for 153 yards—averaging 25.5 yards per catch—as a freshman in 2024. He missed the first five games of the season with injury before playing in the Wildcats’ last five contests.
The wideout was a four-star prospect in the 2024 class out of Pahokee High School in Florida, graduating a year early and reclassifying from the class of 2025.
Nebraska re-loaded its wide receiver room in the offseason, adding position coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. from Kentucky, as well as former star Wildcats receiver Dane Key, among others.
