EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The 13th annual Michigan State University Science Festival kicked off this weekend.

The Festival held the STEAM Expo day, where they featured more than 150 hands-on activities and demonstrations. Visitors also got the chance to learn from experts about their projects and other fields of science.

Katherine Prokopchuk, who’s the festival’s coordinator, says the festival is for people who want to explore everything science.

“It’s about celebrating science, building science literacy in our communities, and exploring the many ways that science touches every aspect of our everyday lives,” said Prokopchuk. “So we have presenters talking about everything from herpetology to quantum physics to nuclear physics, to the environment, plant biology. I mean, if you’re curious about something, there’s someone here who’s really excited to talk to you about their studies.”

The Michigan State Science Festival will be going on all month long.
