Amanda Higginbotham, a Realtor at Keller Williams Platinum Realty in Spring Township, is making a lasting impact on STEM education in the Reading community.

In 2024, she pledged to donate a portion of proceeds from every home sale to the Reading Science Center, and she announced that her contributions have surpassed $3,000 — funds that will go directly toward the expansion of the Reading Science Center Neag Cell Lab.
“As a parent, seeing my daughter, Jaxon’s, excitement for animals and all-things science has deepened my appreciation for the impact of hands-on learning,” Higginbotham said. “The Reading Science Center has been an incredible resource for our community, especially in inspiring young girls to explore STEM.
“Supporting the expansion of the Neag Cell Lab was an easy decision because I believe in giving back and investing in opportunities that spark curiosity and innovation in future generations.”
The Reading Science Center exists to foster a love of science through exciting and experimental STEM education for the Greater Reading community, especially youth.
On May 4, the Reading Science Center will host its second annual Celebrate Science Day from 1-5 p.m. at Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health in Wyomissing. This event promises exciting experiments, interactive exhibits and plenty of opportunities to dive into the world of science.
The Reading Science Center provides the Greater Reading community with science experiences and educational programming. Through interactive exhibits, field trips and outreach programs, the Center aims to ignite a lifelong love for science in learners of all ages.
“I couldn’t have done this without my amazing clients and supporters — you make this possible,” Higginbotham said. “If you’re thinking about buying or selling a home, let’s make it happen and continue making a difference together”
Higginbotham’s philanthropic commitment has earned praise from Keller Williams leadership, including Susan McFadden, operating principal/owner of Keller Williams Platinum Realty.
“Amanda’s dedication to giving back to the community is truly inspiring,” McFadden said. “Her generosity is not only helping families find their dream homes but also shaping the future for young minds in STEM. We are incredibly proud of her efforts and can’t wait to see how her continued support will benefit the Reading Science Center in the years to come.”
Higginbotham remains committed to using her real estate success to drive positive change in the community. Those interested in buying or selling a home with a purpose can connect with her to support this mission while making their own real estate dreams a reality.
“For 2025, I am so excited to continue supporting the Reading Science Center with donations from each home sale,” Higginbotham said.
