Cape Media, KNCCI sign 3-year deal to boost MSMEs across Kenya

In a strategic move set to transform Kenya’s business landscape, Cape Media and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at amplifying visibility and market access for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.

The agreement, signed in Nairobi, seeks to harness Cape Media’s expansive media platforms to showcase and profile local businesses on a weekly basis, targeting both regional and international markets.

Cape Media is the company that owns Radio 47 and TV47, the fastest growing media brands in Kenya.

“We’ve agreed to provide a platform for the chamber and its members to showcase their businesses and services. This isn’t just about publicity—it’s about driving economic growth,” said Cape Media CEO Mwenda Njoka. “At the end of the day, Kenya will be built by us, not by foreigners.”

KNCCI President Dr. Eric Ruto echoed Njoka’s sentiments, noting the impact the partnership will have on the 47 KNCCI chapters representing over 50,000 direct members and two million through affiliated business groups.

“Our vision is to represent the commercial and industrial interests of the private sector in Kenya. This partnership allows us to profile, build capacity and provide market access for businesses across the country,” stated Dr. Ruto.

A key highlight of the partnership is the launch of the National MSME Awards Program, set to take place at the end of the year. The awards will recognize and celebrate innovation, resilience and excellence among Kenya’s vibrant MSME sector.

The weekly business profiling program, to be aired by Cape Media, will feature five companies per episode, offering them a rare opportunity to tell their stories, reach new markets and attract investment.

Industry stakeholders have lauded the MoU, viewing it as a game-changer for Kenya’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. With media playing a pivotal role in shaping perceptions and driving influence, this collaboration is expected to be a catalyst for business growth, job creation and national development.

The curtain has risen on a new era for Kenyan businesses—one where stories are told, voices are heard and dreams are amplified on national screens.
