Deadly Wayne Co. crash leaves 1 child dead, injures another

WAYNE COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - One 13-year-old is dead and another injured after a crash in Wayne County.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday they received a call about a crash with injuries in the area of Hortense Road in Screven.
Multiple agencies, including the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Jesup Police Department, Georgia DNR, and Georgia State Patrol, responded to this call. Officials then located the crash in the Little Satilla Wildlife Management Area off Hortense Road.
Georgia State Patrol was called in to investigate the crash.
One 13-year-old child was taken to a local hospital by EMS and later died of his injuries. The second 13-year-old was taken to a local hospital by family.
