HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Officials at Marshall University have approved hikes for tuition and fees in addition to room and board.
Marshall’s Board of Governors approved a 2.5% tuition increase for West Virginia undergraduate and graduate students while metro, non-resident and international student tuition will remain the same, according to a news release from the university.
The news release said housing will go up by 2.6% and dining will raise by 4% while “small increases” will be implemented for capital and auxiliary fees.
The move was made Wednesday as the board met to pass Marshall’s budget for fiscal year 2026.
Marshall University Brad Smith cited “federal and state policy shifts” along with “financial uncertainties” for the hikes.
