Library helps members access needed resource

The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) is a tremendous resource that provides library services by mail to identified Washington residents. Any Washington resident who is unable to read standard print due to blindness, visual impairment, deaf/blindness, physical disability (cannot hold a book or turn pages) or reading disability can be a WTBBL patron. All costs for materials, equipment and services are provided at no charge to a patron. Any facility which regularly serves people meeting the aforementioned requirements may apply for this service. To apply for WTBBL, one can either complete the application online or print it out and mail it in. Those who need assistance can stop by the Cathlamet Public Library where staff will be happy to help. All WTTBL materials are sent in the mail at no charge. Also, a catalog will be sent out every other month to all patrons that request it. There is so much more to know about this program and what it offers. Visit http://www.sos.wa.gov/washington-talking-book-braille-library to find out more. Those needing the WTTBL service, or know of anyone who might need the service, are welcome to stop by the Cathlamet Public Library (115 Columbia St.) or can call 360-795-3254. The Cathlamet Public Library is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.
