Binghamton University hosts open house for 16-Week pharmacy technician training program
VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Binghamton University held an open house on Thursday for the school’s 16-week pharmacy technician training program.
The micro-credential course in Binghamton University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences graduated its first cohort of 20 learners last year. It helped them get jobs with the hybrid learning experience.
School faculty said this open house allows prospective students the chance to see the state-of-the-art facility before applying for the program. A Binghamton University professor at the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kanneboyina Nagaraju, said he’s looking to educate students so they will stay in the area.
“I want to educate children in this area so that a substantial amount of them stay here [to] work, and the hospitals contribute to the local economy as well as take care of their family, friends and relatives,” said Nagaraju.
Applications for the course are due on May 1, and the program will begin on July 7.
