If you have any baby food in your pantry, you might want to check the labels. Over 25,000 units of Good & Gather Baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree, which is sold at Target, has been recalled for containing elevated levels of lead.

The recall (F-0693-2025) on the four-ounce containers was initiated on March 12 and has since been classified as a Class II recall. Under this classification, use or exposure to the product "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences." But serious health consequences, however, are low.

"This recall involved a limited amount of product, which we took immediate action to remove from our shelves," a representative from Target Communications said in a statement to Consumer Reports.

How To Check For Recalled Products

While the affected product may no longer be on store shelves, it's still important to check any products you have at home by looking at the lot number and "best by" date. Products with the following labels should not be consumed.

  • Lot Number: 4169 with a best by date of Dec 09 2025
  • Lot Number: 4167, with a best by date of Dec 07 2025

Babies and children are more susceptible to the effects of lead. You can find more information from the CDC.
