The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers are likely this afternoon or night in several provinces, including Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Southern, and Uva, as well as Ampara and Batticaloa.
Morning showers are also expected along coastal areas of the Western and North-Western provinces, and in Galle and Matara.
The public is urged to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Accordingly, the sun will be directly overhead parts of Sri Lanka until 14 April, with areas like Thunukkai and Oddusudan experiencing this today (13).
