Last day for Georgia students, families to apply for $6,500 private school voucher

Monday is the last day for kindergarten through 12th-grade students and their families to apply for the Georgia Promise Scholarship.

The Georgia Promise Scholarship grants students up to $6,500 in annual funding for private school tuition, tutoring and other educational expenses. There are some eligibility requirements students outlined by the state that students must meet in order to receive funding:

  1. Students must reside in a Georgia public school attendance zone listed by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement
  2. Students must be enrolled in a Georgia public school for around one full academic year

Families can check their eligibility before applying.

The Georgia Student Finance Commission said that over 250 private schools have been approved to be a part of the program.
