Two Niagara University Theatre alumni and 12 current students presented two numbers from the musical "Grease," as part of Roswell Park Cancer Institute's annual gala on Saturday, Nov. 10. The event was themed "Summer Nights" in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the film.
The students and alumni kicked off the evening with a performance of the number "Summer Nights," and closed with "We Go Together," coordinated by Steve Braddock, director of NU Theatre, and choreographed by Terri Vaughan. The acts featured NU alumni David Wysocki and Arianne Davidow as Danny and Sandy, and current students Elijah Vazquez, Marissa DelVecchio, Noah LaClair, Lindsey Pastuszynski, Skylah Fields, Audrey Grout, Zachery Gammel, James DeLano, Katrina Copeland, Krista Wander, Orion Parkkinen and Tyler Olson.
After their performance, the Niagara group had the opportunity to meet Didi Conn, who played Frenchy in the film. She was on hand to receive the Gilda Radner Courage Award on behalf of Olivia Newton John, who could not attend.
