Former San Antonio Mayor and U.S. Housing and Urban Development Sec. Julián Castro has qualified for the third Democratic debate to take place in Houston this September.

Candidates had to collect at 130,000 unique donors and poll at least at 2% or higher in four Democratic National Committee-approved polls in order to appear on the September and October debate stages.

The latest CNN polls shows Castro with 2% of the vote, which was his fourth time to acquire more 2% or higher of poll.

Just before the second debate this summer Castro announced that his campaign had secured the 130,000 donor requirements.

As he headed back to Iowa for his 11th campaign visit, Castro tweeted, “Thank you to my growing number of supporters across the country!”

Castro is the 10th candidate to make the cutoff. He joins Former El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke, the other Texas presidential hopeful in the race.

The next debate is scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13 in Houston, hosted by ABC and Univision on the campus of Texas Southern University.
