Lincoln police officers used a Taser on a 52-year-old man after they responded to a disturbance call Friday morning, according to court documents.
Police responded to a residence in the 2500 block of R Street at about 10:30 a.m., according to the probable cause affidavit.
Once officers arrived, they found Jefferey Jones, of Lincoln, standing near his vehicle holding a knife with a 5-inch blade, police say.
According to the affidavit, Jones was telling police to leave and was agitated by their presence.
Police ordered Jones to drop the knife multiple times. Jones started becoming "verbally aggressive" toward police and refused to drop the knife.
Several officers had to deploy their Taser to get Jones to drop the knife and take him into custody, according to the affidavit.
Jones was taken to Bryan West Campus, as is the procedure when a Taser is deployed on a suspect.
Jones was charged Monday with resisting arrest using a deadly weapon.
Judge Timothy Phillips set his percentage bond at $35,000, meaning he would have to pay $3,500 to be released.
Jones is being held at the Lancaster County jail.
