Syracuse (14-5, 8-1 ACC) will be looking for a better result in the NCAA tournament than they had during the ACC Women’s Lacrosse championship at the end of April. After a blowout 19-4 win over Virginia, the Orange fell 15-8 to Boston College in the championship.
The Orange has had over two weeks to rest and recalibrate ahead of their NCAA debut. They even earned a bye through the first round, thanks to their No. 3 seed. In the interim, head coach Kayla Treanor has been pushing the team to play fast and play fearless.
Stony Brook handed the Orange one of their few losses this season — a 13-12 overtime heartbreaker — on March 5. It marked a turning point for the Orange, however, who rattled off nine straight victories afterward. Now Syracuse brings Emma Tyrrell, Olivia Adamson, Emma Ward and a team packed with experience to bear as they start the hunt for a national title.
